Linda painted this big chicken … or rooster. We’re not sure which it is because we’re not from here or anyplace that raises chickens. But Mainers do … and that’s amazing and we love that! This was inspired by a “show chicken” at a fair. The chicken is stoic and prideful, as it should be. Linda never saw a chicken other than in the grocery store. It’s a pity that most people never see an actual chicken. Kids are being raised never seeing an animal before it’s served to them for a meal. Everyone should have an image of a chicken in their kitchen! Turns out there are many breeds of chickens. Linda said this painting was all about the colors. It looks great in our kitchen for sure! I love this guy … or girl.
